Health Insurance: Evaluating the Impact on the Right to Health

There are gross socio-economic and geographical inequalities in the health care sector in India. The public health system is characterized by poor infrastructure, limited human resources, and inadequate supply of drugs. To combat these issues range of measures have been proposed like cash transfers-cost sharing arrangements and variety of health insurance scheme, including social health insurance (SHI). This study aimed to critically review the evidence base on SHI in India from right to health perspective. The findings of this study are published in the publication.
